Layla(46)

Bresal and I stood in the lobby of a cheep motel that we planned to stay at for the night. "I'm not sure if we should be here." I said

"As soon as everyone's rested we'll go right away in the morning." Bresal replied placing his hand on my arm

"I don't think we should be here with... the rouge..." I whispered looking back towards the others. The rouge girl was standing close to Malcolm. Apparently she was once a Society member until the rouges killed her family except her younger brother and turned her into one of them. As badly as I wanted to kill, I knew I couldn't though, she wasn't like other rouges. Her eyes still black as coal but they were different than other rouges, those of which filled with hatred and death, hers seemed to be filled with sorrow and confusion. I pitied the poor girl. Even if she was different from the others she still couldn't be trusted. She could get out of control at any moment.

"We'll keep close eye on her Layla, that's all we can do for now. At least until we are able to take her to the Society." Bresal said trying to reassure my anxiousness

"I can't believe actually brought her with us." I mumbled

"Even you Layla couldn't be heartless enough to leave the girl to die."

I sighed, I knew he was right. I turned as the other approached me. The rouge seemed like she was expecting Gedeon to appear at any moment. I saw Abrianna whisper something to the girl and she  nodded her head. "Our rooms are 405 and 406," I said handing Malcolm a key and Abrianna the other. "You guys stay in the motel and don't go anywhere." I said glaring at Clement.

He shrugged his shoulders and followed Evelynn as she passed me. I grabbed Clement arm and whispered in his ear "You and Malcolm watch the rouge."

He rolled his eyes and saluted me "Yes Ma'am"

I decided to go outside for some fresh air. I felt Bresal wrap an arm around my shoulder. We walked in silence for awhile as the cool breeze greeted us.

  You're pathetic Layla.

I stopped and looked at Bresal "Did you say something?"

He gave me a quizzical look "No? I didn't say anything."

"Oh, I thought I heard someone."

My god Layla. You don't even recognize your own father?

You're dead! You can't be talking to me.

He chuckled So you thought Layla. My poor naive daughter.

I shook my head hoping I was just going crazy. I heard Bresal ask "Layla? Layla are you okay?" I couldn't reply though, my head began to throb and my vision became blurry. "Layla!" My legs became weak and started to shake. I blacked out then.

I awoke in dimly lit room. I rubbed my throbbing head and stood up. "Where the hell am I?"

A familiar laugh came from behind me. I turned and saw my father standing in front of me wearing a black suit and his terrible grin... I stood in shock as my father who I thought was dead stood in front of me. "No hello Layla? What a shame."

"How are you alive?" I asked trying to hide the panic in my voice.

"You think a little stab to the heart could get rid of me that easily?" he asked stepping closer to me "I may be stuck here but once Lucifer is free me you and Clement can have a good old family reunion."

"That won't ever happen!" I yelled

"You seem confident about that Layla. Yet it seems to me that you don't know where Lucas is and the clocks ticking."

"Shut up!" I growled balling my hands into fist

"Here's the Layla I've been waiting for, the rage that I was always proud of you for. The one thing you ever got from me. You are much like your mother. How is she anyways?"

I looked away. I hadn't talked to my mother since I left for the Society. A surge of guilt hit me.

He must of seen my expression"What happened to my daughter? The one who feared nothing and cared for no one but herself."

"She died along time." I replied staring into his red eyes "She died when she learned what kind of father you really were."

He shook his head "Once Lucifer is free you'll wish you had listened to me. You and your brother will regret this."

I then saw the shine the glimmer of silver fly towards me. I cried out in pain and fell to my knees as Thantos pulled the sword from shoulder. "See you soon Layla." was the last thing I heard before I passed out.~

"Layla! Layla please wake up!" Someone begged from above me

"Look at her shoulder!" Another yelled.

I cried out in pain as I felt hand on my shoulder. I opened my eyes and saw Bresal kneeling beside me and Abrianna on the other side with her hand on me. I saw worry fill Abrianna's eyes as she looked up at whoever was above her. "It's not healing Malcolm."

I cried out again as my wound began to sting even worse. I heard footsteps run towards us"What happened?" Clement yelled

"It burns." I moaned trying to move away from Abrianna. I had never been in so much pain in my life. It felt like holy water times a million being poured into me. "Layla, shh, it's okay." Bresal said trying to calm me. I heard him say something to Clement but I was in too much pain to hear. I continued to sob from the pain. I felt like I was being ripped from the inside out.

Abrianna's hand left my shoulder suddenly and was replaced by another. I tried to listen to who it was but my head throbbed so bad from the pain I couldn't hear or see anything anymore. Then seconds later the pain stopped. My vision cleared and I saw the Archangel Raphael standing beside me. He turned his head and said "She was stabbed by a poisoned blade."

"Layla who did this to you?" Bresal asked placing his hand on my cheek

"Th-Th- Thantos." I stuttered trying to lift my head.

"Damn." Clement cursed "What did he say to you?"  he asked kneeling down beside me.

"Can't we talk about this later?" Evelynn asked from behind Clement "She's obviously tired."

I shook my head "No, I'm okay. He said that if Lucifer is freed he'll be free. And if we don't find Lucas soon it will be too late."~
