Eve/Zoe(22)

Eve:

Regret filled my body as I watched the guards drag Lucas away, while Gemma cried out for him. I should have lied and said he wasn't a pureblood. They would have known I was lying though. I felt a pat on my shoulder from the large man who seemed to hate Lucas "Good job girl. Now we don't have to worry anymore."

I nodded sadly. From outside the room I could see Zoe leading Gemma who was sobbing away. She looked back at me, I expected it to be full of hatred but instead she seemed to understand what I did. I saw Malcolm walking up to me "I know it was a hard thing to do Eve, but it was the right thing. You've prevented hundreds of other people to die."

"Why do they have to kill him though?" I blurted out

Malcolm gave me a serious look "You know why Eve. He has the power to release Lucifer." the lights flickered again at the name

I turned my head away from him. When I looked back I saw Abrianna standing beside him. "Eve? You want to go get fresh air?" she asked

"Sure." I replied softly

Abrianna put her arm around mine and looked back at Malcolm "You don't need to come. We can manage without you." She said with a grin

"But-" he began

"No," she replied firmly leading me outside.

Once we were alone Abrianna stopped and said "I know how you feel about leaving your parents behind and friends. To be honest it sucks."

I nodded "It's nice to have someone to relate to. I just feel guilty for what I've just done. I've torn away a brother and sister who really only had each other to depend on."

Abrianna placed her hand on my shoulder "Eve, you had to do it. I've only been here a short while and I've learned how much damage he could do to everyone."

"I know..." I said sighing.

We walked along the edge of the forest and chatted trying to forget what had happened just awhile ago. We spoke of school, I found out we went to the same college, I'd never met her since I stayed in a apartment and Abrianna was a year older than I. We talked about how Mr.Greenhorn a.k.a Michael really wasn't a stuck up professor but really the most powerful archangel. She told me of how she and Malcolm had completely destroyed the headmasters car.We laughed as we walked. It felt good to laugh again. Our laughter was soon broken by the sound of someone yelling "Andrew? Andrew come here right now!" a women yelled.

We both stood and watched as a young boy no more than 2 ran in front of us giggling. Abrianna stopped him before he could go any farther. "Where do you think your going little one?" she asked sweetly

He babbled on about who knows what until his mother reached us. "Thank you so much." the woman said "I'm not sure what I would have done had he gotten into the forest."

"It's not a problem at all." Abrianna said handing the little boy to his mother "He's precious."

The woman smiled "Yes, he looks just like his father."

She thanked us again and headed back to the castle. We stood in silence for a moment. I could tell she was upset. "Abrianna are you alright?" I asked

"Yeah." she said wiping her eyes

"Abri please." I said looking at her tear filled eyes.

She sat down beside one of the trees, I did as well. Tears were now streaming down her cheeks. "I haven't talked about this to anyone. Not even my parents." she stopped for a moment trying to regain herself. I put my arm around her shoulders trying to comfort her. When she was able to speak again she said "When I was a a junior in high school, I was madly in love with a guy named Trevor. He pressured me to do stuff I didn't want to, and he sad if I didn't do them he would leave me for another girl. Being foolish and naive I did whatever he asked. After that went on for more than a month I discovered I was pregnant." I sat there shocked "Well I was very upset but I was going to raise the baby no matter what. Trevor had other ideas however. When I told him, he got furious and blamed me for everything. We fought a long time, I told him he didn't have to have anything to do with the baby. That made him even angrier. I was about three weeks when it happened, Trevor got so angry at me he punched me hard in the stomach. I won't go into details, other than I lost the baby." She then broke out sobbing

"How horrible Abri. I'm sorry, had I known I would have never brought it up." I said squeezing her shoulders.

"No, I feel better for telling my story. I've had it bottled up for so long I thought I would explode." she replied

"I know I cannot compare to what you just said but I can some how relate. I had a boyfriend, who I loved like there was no tomorrow. Until one day I learned he cheated on me, I was so upset, I confronted him and he got very angry and hit me across the face."

"What happened then?" she asked

"It continued until, until.." old memories seemed to flood back. I thought of the day Eric had beaten Daniel up pretty well. It wasn't Eric though, it was Clement. He was the one there that day that helped me.

"Eve? Eve are you alright?" She asked with concern

"Oh my god, I'm staring to remember everything! Eric wasn't the one who helped me it was Clement! Clement's the one who got Daniel away from me." I stood up with excitement, then was overcome by sadness. The thought of Clement hurt me.

"Eve? I think we need to get you inside. I think you've had enough sunlight."

I laughed lightly "Ha, sure Abri," and walked with her inside.~

Zoe:

waited for it to get dark and everyone went to bed before I went to Lucas. They had planned for his execution tomorrow. Poor Gemma is heart broken. While I was leading her to her room she collapsed in my arms. She was quickly rushed to the hospital wing, but I wasn't allowed to go with her. "You have to wait out here." a nurse told me

"Let me in there! I'm all she has!" I yelled,

The nurse thought a moment but said "I'm sorry Zoe, she is in critical condition."

I was then forced to leave. I returned back to my living room to find my father standing in front of my door. He had a smirk on his face. "I told you he was bad from the start."

"Shut up." I mumbled

"What was that? Speak up!"

"I said, shut up!" I yelled

"How dare you speak to me like that!" He yelled raising his hand

I grabbed it as he swung down "No, now go away Father. I do not wish to see you."

He gave me an angry look but turned and went the other direction. I went into my room and began to pack to bags. One for me and for him. I was getting him out before they killed him and we could go off together. I packed spare clothes, water and a few weapons. Once packed all I had to do was wait until the others had gone to sleep.~

At midnight I made my move. The hall ways were unusually quiet at this time of night. I hid in the shadows, in case I ran into anyone. The only trouble I found was at the room Luke was locked in. One guard stood to keep watch on Luke. I took a coin from my pocket and threw it down towards the guard to catch him off guard. As he bent down I ran behind me and placed my finger on pressure point of his neck. The guard was soon on the floor unconscious. I opened the door slowly in case there was another guard. There wasn't though. I walked into the dark room and found Luke sitting on a small cot. He gave me a shocked look "Zoe? How'd you get in here?"

"Does it matter? I'm here to get you out." I replied with a grin

"Zoe are you crazy, if you're caught you'll be exiled for good."

"Not if we get caught." I replied "Now come on before someone comes."

He nodded and followed me out of the room. When we were outside I handed him a bag "I've packed a bag for the both of us. It should be enough supplied for awhile."

Luke stopped "Us? No, you're staying here."

"What are you talking about? Of course I'm going with you."

He shook his head "No, I can't let you risk it. I need you here to watch over my sister."

"But Luke," I began

"Zoe, I'm sorry. You can't come. Now I have to go before anyone sees I'm gone. You should go to before they find you out of your room." he turned away and began to walk away. He stopped and looked back I hoped he would change his mind and tell me to come with him but he said "Bye Zoe, be careful."

He soon disappeared into the forest. Leaving me standing alone in the moonlight.
