“Are you crazy?!” I snapped at Clement “We can’t kidnap her!”
He glared at me “Well unless you have a better idea then please pray tell.” He snapped
I glared back at him in silence, but then sighed and looked away.
“That’s what I thought.” He said
“So how does this pure blood thing work?” Antoinette asked
“Just like I said,” Gabriel replied “Pure bloods are all linked to each other in one way. Malcolm can find someone of Raphael or Gabriel; that’s how he found Evelynn. While Evelynn…”
“Evelynn would be able to find Malcolm if she so pleased, that is how they are linked. She can also find someone of Lucifer though as well.” Michael replied
The lights in the room flickered at the mention of the name. Everyone was silent and even tenser. I looked over at Gabriel who was looking at ceiling as though getting ready for Lucifer himself to burst in. I also noticed that the people in the room were looking at me. In the crowd somewhere was my parents, but I couldn’t see them. I looked down at the floor.
“So who shall go then?” the queen asked
I saw Layla look over at Clement “We need someone who knew her well.” She said to him and then looked over at me.
“No,” I said flatly “There is no way I’m going with him.”
“Hey I’m not that much exited to have you come either,” He snapped “Layla. Can’t you send someone else from the demon realm?”
“I think Malcolm should go,” Antoinette replied “It might slow the progress of finding the child, but a child of Raphael is not as much as a threat as one of Lucifer.”
“But-” I started to object
“You will go.” She ordered
I bowed my head reluctantly “Yes my queen.”
“Now,” Antoinette said “I think business here is done for now. If any of us comes up with any more information we shall meet again. For now we will wait for the arrival for Evelynn.”
Everyone in the room bowed their heads (except the demons) and dispersed out of the room. I saw my parents and went over to them.
“I can’t believe this!” my father cursed silently “You just got back and now she wants you to leave again?!”
I smiled “I know…but I have to go.”
“You don’t have to do anything…you’re safety is just as important as this girl’s.”
“I’ll be fine mom,” I replied “really, I’ll be back before you know it.”
“Just be careful!” my mom hugged me
“And keep an eye on that damned Halfling.” My father said glared at Clement who was still standing in the middle of the room.
I smirked “don’t worry, he’s not as intimidating as you think.”
“I heard that!” He yelled but stayed where he was
“I love you guys.” I smiled, hugged my mother, and shook hands with my father (he never was the hugging type, which I was glad).
I watched as they left the room. Now it was just Clement, Layla, Bresal, and I. I walked back over to them.
“So what now?” I asked
“You two will pack for the trip; it’s going to take a few days so you’ll need cloths and food.”
“Yes mother.” Clement smirked
She rolled her eyes and pointed to both of us “Just don’t kill each other while you’re on this trip.”
“Can’t make any promises.” I replied and walked offÃ
I walked to my room with no interruptions. I did meet some people on the way but they seemed to not to want to talk to me. I was no longer the Malcolm these people knew. I was different…a freak. When someone would pass me they would keep their heads down and not look at me. Same thing would happen if people were talking. If they saw me they would stop and just stare at me. I came to my room and opened the door. It seemed like ages that I had been in here. Sure it was small and dull, but it was the only peace and quiet I had in this place. I flopped on my bed and looked up at the ceiling. Eve’s smiling face haunted my thoughts. I stood up trying to block out my feelings like Clement had but I was no Halfling. I sighed.
“God I miss you so much Eve.” I said
I looked out my window. I wonder what she was doing right now.
Not remembering you a voice said in my head
Yah that sounds about right. It didn’t even matter if I saw her anymore. I’d rather not see her and her remember me then having to see her everyday and have her not. If I went on this mission I wouldn’t know how I’d react to her presence. We had gone through so much and she pushed the memory of me away. I couldn’t help but wanting to see her though.
I went over to my dresser and stuffed some cloths into my backpack. I saw my pistol sword. I unsheathed it and watched in gleam in the moon’s light. I never thought I would have to use this so soon, but if I was going to be travelling with Clement I’d better be safe than sorry. I swung my backpack over my shoulder and went out to the main hall. I saw Clement leaning against the wall.
“You ready to go or what?”
“Yah.” I replied
We both walked outside where the queen waited for us out in front with three guards by her side. She smiled when she saw me but as before it faded into a hidden sadness at the sight of her son. I didn’t know their story but I really just didn’t care. Clement was an asshole and that’s all I needed to know.
“So,” he said “What’s the plan on traveling?”
His mother’s face mirrored his own (no emotion). “I have arranged a ride for you two.” She replied and looked behind her.

Hahaha loved it :)
