Lucas (9)
After taking a shower I walked down the halls. People had been talking about the purebloods and the queen’s son. The one that was the most popular was the girl. Apparently the queen’s son and Malcolm had brought her here for something. I would have known what it was but I had slept through the last meeting (couldn’t sleep again). It has been strange the past month; I can’t sleep no matter how hard I try, and when I do sleep it’s only for two to three hours at a time. I kept thinking about the girl like everyone else though. When I first saw her…I don’t know. I walked passed my sister’s room when she came out.
“You going to the Great Hall?” she asked
“Yah,” I replied “I’ve got nothing better to do.”
But in reality I knew this all had to do with this mysterious person being linked to Raphael or Lucifer. I knew I didn’t really have the time, but my curiosity was getting the best of me.
“You want me to wait for you?” I asked her
“Nah, I’ll catch up with you in a bit I need to tidy up some things before I go.”
“Ok I’ll see you in a bit sis.” I replied
Just before she went back into her room I asked “How are you feeling?”
She sighed “A little sore but nothing major.”
“Gemma.”
“Lucas.” She mocked
I smiled “Ok just let me know if it gets worse ok? I worry about you.”
She laughed “Luke I’m fifteen, you need to stop worrying about me so much. I can take care of myself.”
She went back into her room and I reluctantly left “That’s what I worry about.”
I walked a little farther and stopped when I heard voices.
“God I hate all this pureblood business,” I heard a woman said “They’re only doing this to scare people.”
“Do you really think that this girl can find someone linked to Lucifer?” a woman asked
“Why wouldn’t she be able to?” another one said
“I don’t know, I heard she doesn’t even have her full memory, if she doesn’t have that then how could she be able to find this kid?!”
Before I could hear anything else someone ran into me from behind. Now irritated I turned around to find the girl that everyone seemed to be talking about. I glared at her “Watch where you’re going.” I snapped at her and continued down the hallway where I turned around the corner.
The nerve of some people! God why can’t they watch where they’re going? I sighed trying to calm down but still found myself in a bad mood. I walked down to the dining hall and found no one there. I walked up to a table where there was some left over bread from lunch. I took a small piece and chewed angrily on it as I made my way back to the Great hall. I saw people gathering into the throne room and looked around trying to find Gemma. When I couldn’t find her though I gave up, but I then caught sight of Zoe and her farther. They both saw me to; Zo giving me a small smile and her father giving me the death glare. I smirked at him knowing it would annoy him and moved with the huge crowd into the room.
I took a place in the back corner where no one would notice me. Plus it was darker. I watched as the queen took her seat on her throne and waited for the meeting to begin. I saw Malcolm walk in with my sister and this girl walk in (apparently her name was Eve). My sister has this little crush on Malcolm so that’s how I knew him. We didn’t really know each other I just saw him walking around. We just knew that each other existed because of my sister. A few minutes later a dark haired man and a dark blonde woman walked in. I instantly knew that they were demons, for the people around me started to whisper. My guessing was that was the queen’s son, but I didn’t know who the girl beside him was.
“Clement,” The queen said “I didn’t think that you would make it on time.”
“My apologies,” he replied “I was catching up with an old friend.”
“And who is this?” she asked looking at the girl
“Eliza.” The female demon said sweetly but I could sense a bitterness in her voice
The queen nodded “Well then I should also expect that Gabriel and Michael should be here soon.”
Angels are coming to? I thought bitterly
I’m just saying the room is already packed. Plus I’m starting to feel claustrophobic already. As if on cue two brown haired men walked into the room.
“Good,” the queen smiled as they stopped in front of her with the others “Now we can start.”
My gaze caught over to Eve; she was looking around nervously but also just looking to see how big this place was. She glanced back towards me and froze. Her faced showed fear for a second but she then looked away and back up to the front. What is her problem? I probably just scared her from earlier. Oh well, like I cared what anyone thought of me.
“Now that Eve has arrived I believe that the search will officially start?” the queen said as she looked over at the angels
“Yes,” one of them said “but Eve needs to be trained in the time being. She’s not ready yet.”
His hair was slicked back and more formal then the other’s I noticed he was also wearing a suit. The man standing next to him was wearing a green t-shirt and his short hair was as casual as his cloths.
“So what do you suggest?” the queen asked
“My brother and I have talked about this and we need Eve to catch up with Malcolm.” The casual one said
“Gabriel you know how long that will take though?” the queen asked “My people are being tortured because we might have a felon among our mists. We need to act as soon as possible.”
“Yes and we know that.” The more formal man replied “But she isn’t ready. She doesn’t have the skills to start looking. I’m sorry Antoinette but Malcolm will have to look alone for now.”
The queen seemed to be debating this. People around me seemed to be doing the same thing. The queen was right though; people here were scared of this mysterious person. I could sense it by the atmosphere and the looks on their faces.
“So what kind of training does she need?” the queen asked finally
The two angels or archangels now that I realized looked at each other but the one that was called Michael answered “She will be trained by me of course to help build up her strengths and magic but I think it would be a wise idea to teach her how to fight.”
“Defend myself?” I heard Eve question looking at Michael
“I agree,” Malcolm said taking a quick glance at her and then back up to the queen “If this person is linked to Lucifer-”
The lights flickered and the people started to mummer.
Malcolm looked up at the ceiling but then continued “then they might not want to be found. It’d be better if Eve knew how to defend herself if it came down to it.”
“The question is…” the queen’s son started “Is who will teach her?”
Silence took over throughout the room.
“I think it would be best if Eve had different teachers,” Michael replied “Malcolm and Clement would be my first choices since Malcolm can help with fighting with her powers. Clement would be able to help her with being more quick as a sparring partner, but do you have anyone to help her with regular training?”
Here it comes I thought
“I do actually,” the queen replied “May Zoe Evans and Lucas Reed come forward please?”
I watched as Zoe stepped forward and bowed unlike me where I stayed where I was.
“Mr. Reed?” she called
Everyone’s gazes turned on me. So much for not being noticeable. I sighed and walked forward and stopped next to Zoe. Eve had been watching me as I came foward (no one had noticed but me though). I bowed my head to the queen.
“Do you two accept to help teach Ms. Eve?” the queen asked looking at us
“Yes.” Zoe replied
I was silent. Why should I waste my time teaching this girl when she had other people who could?
“Mr. Reed?” the queen leaned forward
“Whatever.” I muttered
“Hmmm?”
I sighed and reluctantly replied “Yes, my queen. I accept.”
“Good,” She smiled ignoring my tone and looked at the others and then Eve “Training will start tomorrow then. For now Eve and the other’s need rest. Eve.”
“Yes Antoinette ?” she replied
The queen smiled “Just call me Ann dear; I would advise to talk about your training time with Ms. Evans and Mr. Reed, I would also talk to Michael before he leaves about your time with him as well.”
Michael nodded to confirm what she said.
She nodded and the queen then sat straighter up “Ok, this meeting is now called to an end.”
Thank god I thought as I merged into the crowd, out into the hall, and walked away from everyone before I had to deal with any more people today.X
Yay!!!!!
