Malcolm (13)

I couldn’t believe that this girl thought I was a murderer/psychopath/peeping tom. I wasn’t any of those! Well the murderer thing is kind of stretched out because I do kill, but I only kill demons. God my foot hurt! I had climbed through the window and the second I walk in I hit it against a desk! I also couldn’t believe I had found her though. I don’t know…I was just rereading the letter and heading off to go meet Eve and Michael when I suddenly got this strange feeling in my gut that I knew where Raphael’s pure blood. So I ended up skipping practice and found myself at Eve’s college yet again.

I had waited outside and watched the students gone by when I had finally saw her. Thing was I had to make sure. So I searched for all the signs that would prove that she was like me and Eve. I had seen her Aura though (another thing I had learned from Gabriel) and it proved my suspicions right.

I started to lead her away from the building but she stopped.

“What?” I questioned and then it hit me. I sighed “Fine, we can find a place near the school if you want.”

            She nodded.

Crazy girl still thinks I’m going to kill her. Nevertheless I probably would have been suspicious like her if we switched places. We walked back to the building and through the halls. The lights flickered as we walked down farther. I saw two big doors and stopped. The sign above them read that this was the library. I leaned my ear against the door and figured it was safe to go in. I turned the door knob but it was locked.

“We can’t go in there.” She sighed

I reached into my left pocket and brought out my pocket knife. I started to pick the lock.

“What are you doing?!” she hissed “We’re not allowed in there after school hours!”

I looked over at her “It’s fine, no one will find out.”

“God I’m going to get into so much trouble for this!” she whispered as I opened the doors and gestured her to go in but she didn’t move.

“What now?” I asked getting a little irritated

“If I go in first then you could jump me from behind.”

“And if I go in first you could lock me inside.” I replied “I told you I’m not here to hurt you.”

            She sighed “Fine.”

I closed the door and turned on the lights in the back, so someone would just think that the librarian was in here. We walked towards the back where I let her pick a place to sit. We ended up sitting at one of the back wooden tables near a window. I took a seat sitting across from her.

“So if you’re not here to kill me then what are you here for?” she asked

“I told you,” I replied “I came here in search for a pure blood and I found you.”

“O…kay,” she replied “what is a pure blood?”

“It’s a person who shares their soul with an angel.”

“And you think that I’m this pure blood?”

            “Yes.” I replied surely

“You said angel….you mean like god and the devil? That kind of stuff.”

            “Sadly….yes.”

“So if I share my “soul” with an angel then who is it?”

            “Raphael.” I replied

“How do you know that you just didn’t make a mistake or something?” she asked “I’m nothing special. I’m just a nobody.”

            “You’re not a nobody….”

            Abrianna.”

“Abrianna,” I smiled “You’re special. You’re different….like me. It all shows in your aura.” I said looking at looking at her aura; it was the white glow that Eve and I had (also Michael and Gabriel, but also mixed with other personal colors) but it was also tinged with a emerald green that I noticed, which indicated a healing quality (which Raphael is known for). Yah I was sure that I found the right person.

“So do you share your soul with Raphael to?”

“No, I share my own with Gabriel.”

“I see….ok so if what you say is true and that we are these so called pure bloods then prove it. Show me what you say is the truth.”

“Ok,” I replied “One thing angels and us included is the ability to read minds. Think of something only you know.”

            “Ok.” She replied

I took one good look at her, cleared my mind, and then close my eyes focusing all my thoughts on her.

“You have a tattoo of a heart on your back and you got it while you were drunk with your friends.”

Her face fell “How did you know that?” she asked

“I told you,” I replied “I’m able to read minds because of what I am…of what we are.”

She was silent for a few seconds but then started to laugh “You know you almost got me there.”

“This isn’t some joke Abrianna,” I said “You could be in danger.”

She laughed even more “Yah, and what kind of danger could I be in?” she said sarcastically

“Because of what we are….we have many enemies…most demons to be exact.”

“You are defiantly on something.” She said as she stood up and started to walk away

I grabbed her wrist when I heard glass from a window break. We both stopped….I put my finger to my lips and quietly led her to another table where I had her hide underneath.

“When I say run. Run,” I whispered “If you don’t see me coming after you there is a car outside of the school with a GPS that will show you where to go. When you get there ask for Gabriel and tell him I sent you.” Yah I admit to it. I hotwired a car earlier and typed in the Society's location just in case something like this happened.

She gave me a quick nod in reply.

I listened for anything else but all was quiet. I snuck over to the edge of one of the many tall book cases and leaned to the side to get a look. I saw three demons armed with swords and curved hunting knives.

“You think they’re here?” one said with a grunt

I ducked so they would see me and slowly crouched down trying to figure how I could take down three demons with only a pocket knife while getting Abrianna out of here safe at the same time.

“Hey…” one of the others said as their footsteps stopped “You smell something?”

“Yah,” another one said with a deep voice “Pure blood. Two of them.”

I gave one final look at Abrianna and nodded. I took one silent breath and grabbed a book from the shelf. I aimed it and chucked it at one of the demons. He yelped as the book hit the back of his head and turned around. I grabbed another book and threw it at the others. Hopefully I could create a good enough distraction so Abrianna could get out of here.

“There he is!” the tallest one said

            “No shit Sherlock.” I muttered

I dodged as the one with a deep voice charged at me. As he passed I grabbed his spare sword and swiped it across his back. He yelled out in pain and fell over, but not dead. I twirled the sword in my hand once to get a feel of it and readied myself for on coming attacks. The other two demons came at me at once. I brought the sword up and blocked both of their attacks. I put my blade behind my back as I heard the third demon attack as well. I positioned my new blade in front of me as the three demons gathered in front of me. They all attacked in unison and I ducked swiping at their legs.

“Run!” I yelled and Abrianna bolted from her hiding place

One of them tried to go after her but I threw my sword striking him in the back. He fell and disintegrated. I ducked as a sword brushed inches over my head. I rolled out of the way (grabbing the sword on the floor) and blocked the door way.

“Move aside pure blood,” One of them snapped “and you’ll die quickly.”

“I’d rather just not die thank you very much.” I replied and grabbed the grunting one as he ran towards me and flipped him onto his back. I then thrust my sword downward and into the demon’s chest. I looked at the tallest demon and he backed away. He then disappeared. I sighed in fatigue, but I ran out the doors and outside where I saw a gold car pull up. Abrianna got out.

“I thought I told you to leave.” I said

“Well I thought I’d give you more time.” She said nervously as she looked around “I think I believe you now.”

I nodded and we got into the car. I put the car into drive and we sped away from the school and towards the Society.Ã
